Extra Illustrations

The seaside in Lincolnshire - at least in the early 70s - didn't mean glamour, it meant wind and muddy sand with the sea three miles away on the horizon and woolen swimming trunks that were clingy with wetness and clogged with sand.

The art trip took place in early 1983 and involved a group of us visiting various exhibitions with our art trip. Most memorable was The Treasures Of Ancient Nigeria. (Pic is a painting done at the time)

I'm not sure if this kid is Mangeworth (owner of the pointiest tucker boots in town) or one of the hyper trendy kids from the villages near Lincoln. The appearance of swept of fringes like this in late 1981 shocked the more conservative elements of society, such as me and my friends (who were still wearing donkey jackets and DMs)

Vegetarian Triceratops was the first truly Buddhist dinosaur, plus it has a fancy Elizabthan style ruff around its neck.
